Our business & these policies
Elkahia Gemstone is the store name used on this website, based in Qatar. We present coloured gemstones, diamonds and metals, together with an educational encyclopedia. Contact us at contact@elkahiagemstone.com.
Sales status: online checkout is not active. A shopping-bag selection, contact message or special request does not place an order, confirm stock or reserve a piece. The sales provisions below are proposed terms for launch.
Before sales begin, the registered seller’s legal name, commercial-registration details, business address and return address will be published. These details have not yet been confirmed.
Applicable mandatory consumer rights take priority over these policies. A policy update will not retrospectively remove rights attached to an accepted order.

Product descriptions & authenticity
Each item offered for sale should identify its material, quantity or weight, Rough/Polished form, relevant dimensions, and any known treatments or laboratory-grown origin. Metal listings should state the metal or alloy and any claimed purity. Bronze and titanium are included in our metals collection; that collection name does not classify every metal as precious.
A grading report, origin statement, hallmark or certification applies only when expressly listed for that particular piece. We do not claim that every item is independently certified, untreated, ethically certified or sourced from a mine we own. Supporting documents, when available, will be identified in the listing or written quotation.
Photographs of actual products must be distinguished from fantasy backgrounds and mining illustrations. Lighting and screens can affect colour; this does not excuse a materially inaccurate description. Natural inclusions or irregularities are not automatically defects when accurately disclosed.
The encyclopedia explains materials in general. Its properties, reference photographs and discovery records do not certify an individual item. No medical benefit, investment return, resale price or cutting yield is promised.

Orders, pricing & payments
Before accepting payment, we will confirm the specific item, total price, currency, delivery charges and any taxes or duties we collect. Prices in USD and EUR are separate offers; they are not a promise of a particular exchange rate. Your bank may apply its own currency-conversion charges.
An order is accepted only when we explicitly confirm acceptance in writing. A request acknowledgement is not acceptance. If we identify an availability or pricing error, we will explain it and obtain agreement to any correction or cancel and refund the amount received; we will not silently change an accepted price.
Online payment will be through the provider identified at checkout once activated. Stripe is a planned provider and is not currently connected. We do not offer cash on delivery. Do not send card numbers, security codes or banking passwords through our forms or email.
A receipt reflects the payment recorded for an order. No document is represented as a tax invoice unless it satisfies the applicable invoice requirements. Suspected duplicate or unauthorised charges should also be reported promptly to your bank or payment provider.

Shipping, delivery & international orders
We currently confirm delivery destinations, carrier options, charges and estimated dispatch and delivery dates individually before accepting an order. We do not advertise worldwide shipping or a fixed delivery promise that has not been arranged.
High-value shipments will require a suitable agreed shipping method. Insurance, signature requirements and any declared-value limits will be explained before purchase. We will not ask a carrier to misstate the contents or value of a shipment.
Any destination import restrictions, customs duties, brokerage charges and party responsible for them must be disclosed or explained before the order is accepted. Amounts paid directly to customs or another third party are handled under that party’s refund rules and applicable law.
If a parcel is delayed, missing or damaged, contact us with your order reference. Keep packaging and photographs when reasonably possible. We will investigate with the carrier; contacting the carrier is not a substitute for our own legal responsibilities. Nothing here transfers delivery risk earlier than applicable law permits.

Returns, cancellation & refunds
This voluntary offer is a draft for approval before sales begin. It is not stated as a universal legal deadline.
Changing your mind
For eligible standard retail items, the proposed policy allows you to notify us within 14 calendar days after delivery and send the item back within 14 calendar days after notifying us. It must be the same piece, reasonably protected, with its supplied certificates and accessories, and without use or alteration beyond reasonable inspection.
Cutting, polishing, setting, engraving or other modification may make a piece ineligible for this voluntary offer. Any lawful exclusion for a genuinely personalised order or a price linked to financial-market fluctuations must be expressly disclosed and agreed before purchase. There is no blanket “all gemstones” or “all metals” exclusion. Statutory rights remain separate.
Defective, wrong or materially misdescribed items
Contact us as soon as you discover the issue. We will provide the repair, replacement, refund or other remedy required by applicable law. The voluntary 14-day window, packaging conditions or a failure to report within 24–48 hours do not remove mandatory rights. Where we are responsible, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable agreed return costs.
How to request a return
Email contact@elkahiagemstone.com with your order reference, item, reason and any helpful photographs. We will provide the correct return address and instructions. Requesting instructions must not prevent you from exercising a cancellation right within its legal period. Do not send a parcel to an unconfirmed address.
Costs and refund timing
For a change-of-mind return, you pay the direct return-shipping cost if this was disclosed before purchase. For a full eligible return, our proposed offer refunds the item price and the original standard-delivery charge; an optional delivery upgrade is not refunded unless required by law. We do not impose an automatic restocking fee.
Our proposed refund deadline is 14 calendar days after your cancellation notice. Where the law permits, we may withhold the refund until we receive the item or evidence that it has been returned, whichever occurs first. A shorter legal deadline takes priority. We will normally refund the original payment method and transaction currency. Bank processing can take additional time; any identity or condition dispute will be explained, not used for an indefinite hold.
Where a reduction for handling beyond reasonable inspection is legally permitted, we will explain its basis and evidence. There are no undisclosed deductions. Ask to cancel an unshipped order promptly; we will also honour any applicable statutory cancellation right.

Special requests & B2B quotations
The Special Request form is an invitation to discuss sourcing. Tell us the material, quantity and units, form, destination, business details and any callback preference. Submitting it creates no purchase obligation for either party.
Any B2B or custom order requires a written quotation identifying specifications, tolerances, price, currency, quote expiry, lead time, delivery terms, inspection/acceptance arrangements and any deposit. Cancellation and refund treatment for a deposit must be stated before payment; a request alone does not make a deposit non-refundable.
Wholesale terms may differ from the voluntary retail return offer where lawful and expressly agreed. A “B2B” checkbox does not remove rights that legally apply to the actual buyer or transaction. We will not substitute a material, quality or quantity without agreement.

Privacy & personal information
We receive the name, email, message and optional phone details you submit. A Special Request can also include your company, destination, material requirements and callback preference. Order records entered by the store can contain customer contact and address details, item information and payment references. Please provide only information needed for your enquiry or order.
We use this information to respond, prepare quotations, administer agreed orders, maintain necessary records and protect the website. Form submissions require your agreement to being contacted about the enquiry. They do not subscribe you to marketing. No card-entry form or active payment gateway is currently provided.
Messages are stored in the private store database and, when email is configured, sent to our contact mailbox. Authorised store administration, hosting/email providers and other service providers necessary for an agreed order may process relevant information. Public product pages and the encyclopedia do not display customer records. We do not sell enquiry details.
Hosting and security services may process connection information such as IP addresses and request logs. The forms use a hashed IP-based rate limit to reduce abuse. Google Fonts and Wikimedia Commons reference images may receive connection information when your browser requests their resources. Processing locations depend on the providers; any required safeguards must be addressed before an international data transfer.
Enquiry and order records are not automatically deleted by the current software. We review retention manually and keep information only for a necessary purpose, including applicable accounting, dispute or legal obligations. A final retention schedule will be documented before sales launch; no automatic deletion period is promised here.
To request access, correction or deletion, ask about retention, or withdraw enquiry-related consent, email contact@elkahiagemstone.com. We may verify identity proportionately. Requests are handled subject to applicable law and any records we must retain; withdrawing consent does not undo processing that was lawful beforehand. You may also contact the competent data-protection authority.
We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but cannot promise absolute security. Do not send sensitive identity documents through a general enquiry form. If verification is required for a particular transaction, we will explain the purpose and appropriate submission method first.

Copyright, licences & permitted use
Rights in the Elkahia name, original text, design and product photography belong to their respective owners to the extent protected by law. We claim only rights that we actually own or are authorised to use. Buying a physical gemstone or metal does not transfer rights in website photographs or text.
You may browse and link to public pages. Reproducing protected content requires an applicable licence, permission or legal exception. Mere facts are different from protected wording, photographs and original arrangements. Attribution alone is not permission to copy an entire article, image or video.
Third-party material remains subject to its own credits and licence. The adapted IMA mineral dataset is identified as CC BY-SA 3.0; reuse must meet that licence’s applicable attribution and ShareAlike conditions. Wikimedia photographs have individual creator/licence notices. A dataset licence does not automatically cover our branding, product photographs or every other reference source.
See Data and image attribution and each record’s source links before reuse. Openly licensed permissions and applicable statutory exceptions are not withdrawn by these general terms. Educational subject matter alone does not make unrestricted copying lawful.

Copyright complaints & enforcement
If you believe material here infringes your rights, email contact@elkahiagemstone.com with the affected page URL, the original work or a description identifying it, your relationship to the rights holder, contact details and an explanation of the claimed infringement. Include relevant licence or ownership information. Do not send passwords or unnecessary identity documents.
We will review a sufficiently specific notice and may request clarification, correct attribution, restrict access or remove disputed material while it is assessed. A complaint does not automatically establish infringement. Good-faith corrections and responses are welcome.
If our protected content is used without permission or another lawful basis, we may request removal and pursue remedies available through the appropriate legal process. We do not impose automatic fines, claim guaranteed damages or assert worldwide jurisdiction through this page. Relevant licences, exceptions and defences remain available.

Encyclopedia, corrections & responsible use
The encyclopedia is a September 2026 source snapshot. It is not a live register of every historical gemstone name. Recognition status, discovery uncertainty and missing physical properties remain visible. Check the linked original, including formula typography, before scientific or commercial reliance.
Reference photographs and contributor captions are educational examples, not independent identification of a specimen. Tell us about errors at contact@elkahiagemstone.com, identifying the record and a reliable supporting source. We will review corrections without silently inventing missing facts.
Search engines and AI services may discover public pages. Access does not override copyright, licences, privacy obligations or technical access controls. Cite the specific record, its source and its snapshot context when summarising it; do not present a general mineral fact as certification of our inventory.
Do not attempt unauthorised access to the admin panel, submit malicious files, harvest private customer information or use the forms for spam. These restrictions do not prohibit lawful public indexing or licensed reuse.

Responsible sourcing & restricted shipments
We will assess the documentation and destination requirements for the actual materials offered. We do not promise an origin, mine ownership, responsible-sourcing certification or compliance label without supporting evidence for the particular claim.
International rough-diamond transactions may require Kimberley Process documentation and other applicable import/export formalities. We will not arrange a shipment where required documentation or authorisation is missing. The scheme does not replace gem grading or prove every aspect of a product’s ethical history.
Any identity, business or transaction information required for a lawful order will be requested with an explanation and handled under the privacy notice. We do not offer arrangements to evade customs, sanctions or other applicable restrictions.

Complaints, governing law & policy changes
For a complaint, email contact@elkahiagemstone.com with your order or enquiry reference, what happened and the resolution you seek. We will acknowledge it and explain the next step. No complaint deadline here shortens a legal limitation period.
Where Qatar law governs the transaction, it applies together with any mandatory protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. Cross-border customers may have additional rights and access to authorities or courts under applicable law. This draft does not require private arbitration or waive consumer remedies.
You may approach Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry through its official channels, or another competent authority. Nothing requires you to abandon a bank dispute or legal complaint while we discuss the matter.
We may update these policies prospectively and publish the revised date. The terms agreed for an existing order and any mandatory rights are preserved. The references below explain the legal context; international treaties are implemented through relevant law and do not create one universal store policy for every country.
